Brochure Website Design

Our brochure website design service is ideal for individuals and small businesses that just need something simple to tell people what they do and ideal if you have a limited budget and who rarely make changes to their website content (a static website).

A brochure website usually consists of a single page and allows you to showcase your service easily without much ongoing maintenance required (hence the word static comes into play); think of it as having a long shelf-life so to speak.

Because there is usually just one page, it means the links shown in the top menu will usually redirect the website visitor to other sections within the brochure (one-page) homepage. On occasion we do add links to other pages, such as quotation forms or contact pages so a brochure website could be one-page or multi-page and could consist of static or dynamic content.

Every site we build is like a mini advert for our services so we take great care in designing and developing a website that looks great and delivers exactly what you need for your business. We also believe in the less is more principal so if your business needs only calls for a one-page brochure website, then that's what we'd build.

We have built hundreds of brochure style websites for every type of business imaginable. Brochure websites are ideal for companies that do not sell their products or services online. Typically they are ideal for small businesses who wish to promote their services to existing and prospective customers. These businesses might be trades people such as plumbers, hairdressers, restaurants and the like.

At simpleServe we want all our clients to be proud of their websites and eager to point your friends, family, suppliers, competitors and clients towards its home page at every possible opportunity.

Multi Page Website Design

Our multi-page website design service is ideal for individuals and small businesses that want to advertise their products or services or who just need something simple to tell people what they do. Ideal for those with a limited budget and who may need to make regular or indeed limited changes to their website content.

A multi-page website is a website with various pages, usually a homepage, about us page, services page and contact page. You can add as many or as few pages as you like to a multi-page site and you can also choose to have it as a static website (meaning you won't need to do many changes, if any) or you can choose to have a dynamic website (allows you easy customisation to add pages and other content from a dedicated admin portal).

If you choose to add an eCommerce Solution or want to have full customisation and control of your website then a Content Management System (CMS) may be required; as a multi-page website isn't really suitable as an eCommerce website nor for clients without much coding experience. If you're interested in a full CMS Website then visit our Web Development page for full details.

Quick FAQ's

Almost everywhere you look someone is talking about or calling themselves either a web designer or web developer. But what does it all really mean?

A web designer uses graphics and graphic design software (think Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign) to create a look for the web. This design is then married with coding to bring it to life online. The designer may not always be the person writing the code and in some cases can work independently of the team who will take a website design live.

While aspects of a developer's job may resemble that of a designer, it can be quite different as well. A web developer builds the backbone of websites, typically from the ground up, and knows languages specific to the web. HTML, Javascript, JQuery and CSS are among the tools in their kit. Developers, historically, don't focus on making something look visually appealing but create websites with clean code and that are technically sound. The designer will then marry the development code into the website design.

So, what does this mean when looking at purchasing web design or web development? In a nutshell, if you're just wanting a new website that's being built from scratch then web design is for you. If however you're looking to integrate something, create app's and require lots of personalised scripts or require an eCommerce or CMS based website then you'll be looking at website development.

There are basically two main types of website - static and dynamic. A static site is one that is usually written in plain HTML and what is in the code of the page is what is displayed to the user.

A dynamic site is one that is written using a server-side scripting language such as PHP, ASP, JSP, or Coldfusion. In such a site the content is called in by the scripting language from other files or from a database depending on actions taken by the user.

This ability to connect to a database means that you can also create a content management system - an interface which allows the client to input and manage data via a web-based series of administration pages.

Responsive Web Design is the approach that suggests that design and development should respond to the user's behaviour and environment based on screen size, platform and orientation.

The practice consists of a mix of flexible grids and layouts (we use Bootstrap), images and an intelligent use of CSS media queries. As the user switches from their laptop to iPad, the website automatically switches to accommodate for resolution, image size and scripting abilities.

In other words, the website will have the technology to automatically respond to the user's preferences. This eliminates the need for a different design and development phase for each new gadget on the market.

One Page Brochure Web Design
Brochure websites are a standard request made by small businesses / sole traders that have a limited budget and who rarely make changes to their website content (a static website). A brochure website usually consists of a single page and allows you to showcase your service easily without much ongoing maintenance required (hence the word static comes into play); think of it as having a long shelf-life so to speak. There is only one page meaning the links at the top menu will usually link to sections within the brochure (one-page) homepage.

Multi Page Web Design
Multi Page websites are usually requested by medium to large businesses or those who require an eCommerce element such as an online shop. A multi page website can be either staic or dynamic with a built in Content Management System allowing you full control over the content should you need to make frequent changes. It will consist of multiple pages such as a homepage, about us page, contact page and others as required. You will find there is a menu at the top which links to other pages within your website.

eCommerce Web Design
More and more organisations are investigating the possibility of putting their product offering on-line, enabling customers to buy whenever and wherever they wish. A Content Management System (CMS) can be an ideal fully database-driven eCommerce engine which makes shopping on-line a pleasurable experience for the customer, whilst keeping the retailer in control by having full rights to add menu's, product categories, products and much more.

Content Management Web Design
The basic roles of a CMS include a content creator, reviewer and a publisher. This user security level enables the editor and reviewer to manage content via a web browser with the content stored in a database. In it's simplest form, the CMS (using a browser) will allow a content creator to use an editor to create and edit content with an authorised user to approve the content to be published in a live environment. All of this interaction is controlled through security, workflow and audit trails and all of this is stored and tracked in a database.
